Additional Info

In therapy, hypnosis usually involves the person experiencing a sense of deep relaxation with their attention narrowed down, and focused on appropriate suggestions made by the therapist - The British Society of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis

These suggestions help people make positive changes within themselves. Long gone are the days when hypnosis was seen as waving watches and controlling people's minds. In a hypnotherapy session you are always in control and you are not made to do anything. It is generally accepted that all hypnosis is ultimately self-hypnosis. A hypnotist merely helps to facilitate your experience - hypnotherapy is not about being made to do things, in fact it is the opposite, it is about empowerment.

Coaching is a set of powerful questions and techniques to help you clarify and streamline your goals. It is about you taking responsibility for your own life. Helping you find your own answers to your unique hurdles. This enables you to take action that not only fits to you but challenges you to succeed in a faster and more powerful way.

Often referred to as "Psychological acupressure", EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) works by releasing blockages within the energy system which are the source of emotional intensity and discomfort. These blockages in our energy system, in addition to challenging us emotionally, often lead to limiting beliefs and behaviours and an inability to live life harmoniously.

An EFT treatment involves the use of fingertips rather than needles to tap on the end points of energy meridians that are situated just beneath the surface of the skin. The treatment is non-invasive and works on the ethos of making change as simple and as pain free as possible.

NLP stands for 'Neuro Lingusitic Programming' and has been around since 1970's when its co-founders, Richard Bandler and John Grinder first modelled other therapists.

NLP is frequently known as the "users manual for your mind" and studying NLP gives us insights into how our thinking patterns can affect every aspect of our lives.

It looks at the way in which we think and process our thoughts (Neuro), the language patterns we use (Linguistic) and our behaviours (Programming) and how these interact to have a positive (or negative) effect on us as individuals.

NLP is a collection of a wide range of methods and models which create an understanding of thought process and behaviour. Understanding these techniques can bring about a positive change in you and others.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Repeated studies show that by using EMDR people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference. It is widely assumed that severe emotional pain requires a long time to heal. EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma, much as the body recovers from physical trauma.
